Tomato Haiku. How do you feel about the tomato?  Do you find it beautiful?  Tasty?  Awful?  We would like patrons to write tomato haiku this month.   The contest will be divided into under 16 and adult categories.  Winning poems will be read at our Tomato Festivals on September 10 in Delta and September 12 in Hotchkiss.  Please enter up to three original poems by emailing them to lmorris@deltalibraries.org or submit your poem at any Delta County Library.  Contest ends September 1.  Please call your library for more information.

Crawford

Storytime for Babies, Tots, and Preschoolers at the Crawford Library. Stories, games, songs, activities, and crafts for kids 0-5 and their parents or caretakers. Thursdays starting at 10:30 a.m. Contact the Library at 399-7783 for details.

Computer Tutor. Librarians will be available to help you with questions and problems about computers or mobile devices. Just drop in during regular library hours or call ahead for a specific time. Contact the Library at 399-7783 for details.

Hotchkiss

Storytime for Babies, Tots, and Preschoolers at the Hotchkiss Library.  Wednesdays starting at 10:30 a.m. Join us for stories, activities, and crafts downstairs in the Hotchkiss Library. Contact the Library at 399-7781 for details.

2nd Annual Tomato Festival. Join us for tomato tasting, tomato judging, and other fun contests and games.  Open to all ages.  This event will be in conjunction with the Hotchkiss Farmer’s Market and is put on by the Delta County Libraries to celebrate the Seed Library and Outside the Lines. Saturday, September 12 from 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Become a Seed Hero: Seed Saving Basics. You don’t need super powers to save seeds. Come learn tips and tricks to get started saving seeds from your garden.  Tuesday, August 25 at 5 p.m.

Evening Book Club. This month’s book is “All the Light We Cannot” See by Anthony Doerr.  Copies of the book are available for check out from the library. Tuesday, September 8 at 6:30 p.m.

One-on-One Computer Help. Individualized instruction with any computer or electronic device.  Call the Library at 399-7881 to schedule a time that is convenient for you!
