SENATOR KERRY DONOVAN STATEMENT ON STANDARD MINE WASTEWATER SPILL

It is estimated that roughly 2,000 gallons of wastewater has spilled.“I am deeply concerned about the potential impact this spill could have on Crested Butte’s residents. I am keeping an open line of communication with local leaders and officials to gather details on the situation, and look to proactively seek solutions for these abandoned mines around communities across Colorado,” said Senator Donovan.

“It is critically important as we move forward in the cleanup that all parties involved maintain a sense of responsibility and accountability to ensure this is solved for the good of the Coloradans in the entire affected area.”
