Paonia Chamber Organizes Holiday Festivities December 4-6

This December 4, 5 and 6, the Paonia Chamber of Commerce is washing Paonia in holiday spirit so thoroughly that even your holly jolly will be intimidated.  “We noticed that a lot of our businesses and organizations were already planning holiday events, and thought that this was the perfect place for the Chamber to get involved and help coordinate marketing for all the events,” says Board President, Mike Drake.  The result?  An abundance of events, ranging from wine tastings to art fairs, to hay rides and a visit by Santa, appropriate for all ages and interests.  Complete details are available on the Chamber’s website at: http://paoniachamber.com/paonia-holiday-festivities-2015/ and also listed below:

A shopping event for kids! CAWS volunteers have curated a shop full of items perfect for young ones to gift to their friends and family, with helpers on hand to help with math and decision making. Most gifts are $2.  All proceeds go to rescued animals in Delta County.

Christmas Decorating @ The Bross Hotel The Bross Hotel is hosting a decorating party Sunday, December 6th from noon-2pm. If you’re one who always admires pictures of victorian mansions decked out for Christmas, this is your opportunity to participate in decorating Paonia’s historic victorian lady-the Bross Hotel. The tree will be up and the decorations out. You get the fun of deciding which decorations to use where. So, come have a good time with friends and neighbors. Holiday refreshments will be served. Coloring Contest Submissions Due

A kid’s/adult’s coloring contest is part of the fun! The contest will be held for four age groups (3 years to 6; 7 years through 9; 10 years through 12; and all ages over 12). The winners will receive one new book of their choice from the library catalog up to a $25 value. Coloring contest entry forms may be picked up at the Library front desk, the Blue Sage Center, and Lizzy’s Homestead Market, from November 24th through December 5. Entries must be in by 2pm on Saturday December 5. Kids can color while parents shop! Winners announced on Wednesday, December 9.

Hay Ride

Take a round trip ride to the Holiday book sale, by hopping onto the horse drawn hayride sponsored by the Homestead Market. The rides start at Lizzy’s Homestead Market on Grand Avenue and turn around at the Paonia Library on 3rd Street. Pick up for the hayride will begin in front of Lizzy’s at 10:30am, and will end approximately 1:30pm. Riders will be able to get off at the Blue Sage Center “Gingerland” after its noon opening, in time for Santa visit in town. The Homestead will be hosting its annual Holiday open house, with local food and drink samples for everyone. The Friends of the Library will also have free hot chocolate, cider, coffee and cookies in the Library Community Room. Cost: Free

Elsewhere Studios Artist in Residency Program invites you to our 2nd annual Renaissance Masquerade Ball.
