Crawford Volunteer Fire Department Invites Community Volunteers

•                 Some of the brightest shining stars of our Valley are the citizens who volunteer their time with the local Volunteer Fire Departments and the North Fork Ambulance Association (NFAA). There are many other volunteer opportunities that are important in local government, water companies, irrigation companies, churches, service organizations and others that keep things in our communities working smoothly but all would hopefully agree that the fire department and ambulance association are two of the places of the most critical importance where life and death matters are faced.Like any organization the Fire Departments and NFAA go through cycles of volunteer numbers and participation. Most of the time they always are in need of more volunteers to spread the work around.  This month the Crawford Volunteer Fire Department is putting out a special call for new or returning volunteers to get them over a hump.  If you live in that area please think seriously about responding and taking a turn serving with the Fire Department. They have issued the following statement/invitation:

  Crawford Volunteer Fire Department is Looking for a Few Good Men and Women

  Due to work and personal commitments both the Crawford Fire Department Chief and Assistant Chief have recently resigned their positions. The board of directors and the fire fighters are looking to build the department and staff it with new leaders.

  On behalf of the firefighters and board of directors, you are cordially invited to attend a meeting and see what we are all about. If you are a past member please consider returning to help us build our new department. If you have never been a member please feel free to attend a meeting and check us out. Both men and women are welcome.

  The CVFD general meetings are on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Fire Barn on Dogwood Street. Board meetings are on the second Tuesday of each month and everyone is welcome to attend those meetings as well.
