Paonia Downtown – by Steve Huntley
Blue Sage Peer Review Workshop for Writers
Attention writers! New writers, old writers and those in between: all are welcome to attend a peer review workshop at the Paonia Library on Saturday, January 9th at 2:00 p.m.
The workshop will be divided into two groups: one for poetry up to fifty lines and another for prose (fiction or nonfiction) up to 3,000 words. Participants will read their pieces and facilitators will help guide the group in a constructive discussion with the objective of helping each writer find the best way to convey his or her thoughts and feelings to the reader. Constructive feedback will follow the time honored method of critique: first, compliment the writer; second, suggest improvements and last, wrap up your critique with another compliment of the piece.
This is a workshop for those who love writing, who want to improve their writing, and who want to help others to become better writers. Pieces may be submitted to the Write On! Anthology, published by the Blue Sage Center for the Arts and the Delta County Libraries. Submission deadline is February 1. Submission information at http://www.bluesage.org/events/2016-write-on-anthology/.
For more information on the Peer Review Workshop, contact Sunshine Knight at 874-9630 or Laura Lee Yates at 399-7881 at the Delta County Libraries.
